Job Purpose

The aim is to state the overall significance of the job from the organisation's perspective.
Provides guidance and support to electrical maintenance activities. Troubleshoots problems and liaison with vendor for spares & services. Ensures reliability of equipment and suggest improvements. Develops and implements maintenance schedule for equipment. Develops procedures and conducts training for electrical personnel.

  • Implements approved Department policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner

  • Analyzes performance of Electrical related systems and provides recommendations. Coordinates with vendors performed maintenance contracts and makes reports
  • Smooth flow of day-to-day Electrical equipment performance

  • Assists with maintenance activities of Rotating equipment in the plant 
  • Establishes procedures and instructions required for maintenance of rotating equipment according to engineering principles and safety regulations. 
  • Contribute to the development of Predictive and Preventive Maintenance plans and procedures for all rotating equipments, and provide technical expertise for rotating equipment maintenance activities, standards and procedures.
  • Witness / Tests newly installed Rotating equipment to ensure to fulfil requirement of supplied equipment specifications.
  • Provides on-job training to maintenance technicians to develop their skills to perform their duties in most safe and economical manner. 
  • Reviews with vendor for required spares & services to ensure the equipment maintenance is not delayed because of lack of spare parts. 
  • Participates in the decisions of replacing rotating equipment by giving technical evaluations. 
  • Records and analyzes causes of equipment failure and recommends long-term remedy solutions.
  • Lead the Investigation team and conduct root cause analysis for major rotating equipment failures and troubleshoot various types of rotating equipment problems. 
  • Review parts selection for obsolete or out-of-production parts. 
  • Develop the required technical studies, reports and reviews of all types of rotating equipment.
  • Develop and perform performance tests on all different types of rotating equipment, such as compressors and pumps etc.
  • Plan strategies to maintain rotating equipment and avoid obsolescence.
  • Contributes in design packages for any upgrade changes in the plant rotary equipments 
  • Develop and review Operating Instruction Manuals for new rotary equipment or systems.
  • Perform efficiency calculations for pumps and compressors.
  • Perform vibration analysis (steady state, transient, vortex shedding, slug, water hammer)
  • Mentor and transfer technical knowledge and skills to entry level engineers.
  • Ensure keeping, maintaining and updating a database of all historical data pertaining to rotating equipment failures and assist in analyzing failure data and preparing reliability test reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical engineering

Experience

15+ years of experience in the field of Rotating Equipment in the oil industry or a similar process industry. Knowledge of oil industry standards and codes for Rotating Equipment Engineering, and additional certifications would be an advantage
